coming back and want to try something

I was wondering how many files I'd have to edit to alter the configuration of the main hotbar bank. Or, alternatively, to create a new hotbar bank in the shape I'd prefer.
I saw that Drox and CoreUI had created custom hotbar banks so, apparently, this is possibel. Nadger, Drox, and Techywarrior are, I realize, far beyond the knowledge of a dabbler like myself. Still I'd like to try this.

Any basic help, like what files would allow me to stack rows on top of each other and such (want to do a 4 across, 3 down bank that is keybound and paging enabled).
