1) Introduction
This is another version of the Darker series, yet with a subtle Role Play look and feel. If you are looking for a nice simple UI that is completely modular, then this is the one. Easy to see, read, understand and yet small and simple.

QUEST WINDOWS
There are two versions of the QUEST LOG in this file. The Book version is included.
However, if you wish to revert back to the default style,
1) just go into the DarkScrolls folder,
2) find the folder named "DefaultQuestWindows",
3) copy all three files,
4) and paist them in the file called "Windows".
__________________________________________________
2) What this Custom UI does
Removed the dependency for most ajoining windows. More separate windows to move where you want them.
a) Separate Player stats from the Defensive Target for easy layout of your choice.
Changes default size of all bags, inventory, banks and more.
Changed the default font size for pop up / mouseover windows. (For what the server will allow)
Adds in the drop in box for the Market Exchange Broker.
Removes the "extras" from the ui such as added graphics in the player stat window, group
window and offensive window.
Adds in the option for a horizontal group window.
Consists of 6 horizontal Hotbars and 2 vertical.
Adds in the HUD interface to choose your options you would like to have displayed in game.
ie: Combat, Stats, clock and more!
Adds in a Healer Helper hotbar for heal and buffs abilities.
Smaller and more abilities on each page.
Quest window adjusted to fit more quests in visible line.
Quest listings include Level and sphere
Ability to organize your quests by Level and Sphere.
Display of 36 parlay cards per page.
Smaller Parlay table
Updated XML to current for Vanguard.
__________________________________________________
3) Changes
New:
Fixed a placement issue with the ToolBelts in the Crafting Window
Moved the "Sort By Chunk" drop down box to a better posission.
Darkened the Targets Target in the Offensive Target Window.
Old:
Fixed the Offensive Target Toggle in the Advanced Settings.
Adjusted the IconBlankSlot to fit more inline with the rest of the ui.
Added percentages and self Health Meter
__________________________________________________
4) How to install
Unzip the file using your favorite zip/rar program.
Copy the folder included in the zip to your c:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard\VGUIAssets\Shells
folder.

1) Download the zip file.
2) Extract and copy the folder DarkScrolls.zip to "..\Vanguard\VGUIAssets\Shells\"
in your Vanguard install folder
(default: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard).
You should have a new folder "..\Vanguard\VGUIAssets\Shells\DarkScrolls\"
3) Open up your Vanguard install folder.
4) Open the "/bin" folder, and find vgclient.ini.
5) Open vgclient.ini (with notepad, i.e.) and search for [UI],
below it change "ShellName=Default" (should be line 66)
to "ShellName=DarkScrolls".

Should look like this:
[UI]
ShellName=DarkScrolls
ValidateXML=False
ChatAutojoin=regionsay,auction
LoadGameplayWindowsAtStartup=False
PresentLogin=True
GuildNotifyOnline=True
LootFollowsMouse=True
FilterProfanity=False
ShowChatBubbles=False
4.1) Changing the Guild Site URL
In Game Update 5 we now have an ingame brouser. By Default this is set to Yahoo (http://search.yahoo.com/). But if you would like to change the url to your guild site follow these simple steps:

a) Open folder named Windows- Find VGUIPetitionWnd.xml
b) Search for line 367 and change the url to what you would like.
Example:
line 367: <Action event="_go_url_button" senderName="_guild_forums_button" strData2="http://andronnai.com">
c) Save and you are done!

4.2) Add Crafting Macros
Moves an item from your inventory to your refining workbench.
1) Right click on one of the Macros in the Crafting Set up.
2) Name your macro
3) Select your icon from the corresponding icon listed next to command
4) Copy and paist (Ctrl+v) format into the Macro window (Can view all 15 commands in the AddItemMacro.txt)
5) Click Create

Some things to remember:
Make sure that you have not accidentally doubled the UI folder. (This is a usually cause for crashing when entering the game.)
Make sure you modify the ini folder correctly. If there are caps in the name of the mod, you have to include those.
__________________________________________________

5) Resetting back to Default:

If you want to reset back to the default User Interface, just do the following.
Make sure to exit the game completely before doing this.

1) Locate your Vanguard installation directory. (Ex. C:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard\ )
2) Inside the "bin" directory is the following file "VGSettings.xml" deleting it will reset
all windows

You may then delete the "DarkScrolls" folder from your Shells. Just make sure you do NOT delete the "Default" folder.

Only played with it a tiny bit because its so late here, but I REALLLY like it. nice and simple yet has some eye candy to it to keep me happy

Again only real quick, but the things that popped into my head were again on the healer bar:
Add percents to the bars
Are the buttons intentionally placed with gaps between them?
Any chance of adding a few extra buttons?

I have the %'s comeplete and will upload that in just a few.

Yes, the gaps are there intentionally. How many more buttons do you want on it? You can stretch it out to 12 each person. If you go to layout mode, you can drag the bar as wide as you like up to 12 hot bar macros on each one.

Also, my HealerHelper does and always has auto targeted the member of your group for that "line". I hope that helps some.

Any other questions or suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

Peace,
♥ Sarrene'

the quest tracker is unmovable even in layout mode. and the little options window for the tracker is missing the newly add check marks for "locking" and "click through"

Other than that it is very nice! Everything is a little too small for my personal taste, but it is very nice work!

Okay, I checked the Quest tracker and it moves around just fine for me. I am not sure why you are having any issues. Others in my guild are having no problems either.

As far as the missing window that "add check marks for locking and click through" I will take a look at that.

Myself, I use the default windows supplied in the UI, but I know some had wanted the book a while back, so I made it as a special request for one of my members back in the start of the year. I did put in the book quest log though before i tested the quest tracker :P

Let me see what i can find out about this new window.

Here is a question for you all though...
Should I have the Book as default, or the Default style quest log as default?

Peace,
♥ Sarrene'

edit: Sorry, I woke up late and still working on my first pot of coffee...
The small size is on purpose, and I know its not for everyone. If you have a smaller monitor or crt and a higher resolution, it will appear to small. This was made more for those that have larger screens or lower resolutions. So far, most that run on a 19-20" at 1680x1050 seem to like it the best. But I can fully understand how tiny it can be if you are at a resolution above that.
Nice thing is though, is that you can make a macro so when you log into game you can re size everything with a click of a button if you really like this one. I will (I have not forgotten yet) be adding in an add on for larger bags and such, so no worries there.)

Forgive me for not putting these into a nice concise report. I'm just throwing them out as I find them.

In Advanced Settings->Windows->Offensive Target -- This actually toggles the DEFENSIVE target. An option for both would be nice.

The quest tracker moves around fine for me, but if I right click to open the options window the window is kinda screwy. The drop down for sorting is like on top of other controls. However the opacity settings don't seem to work. Both mouse off and mouseover.

BIG HUGE SHOWSTOPPING issue for my DK The encounter list doesn't show who the mob is aggroed on!

As for the abilities journal... You said "book" version is the default, which I thought meant the old beta book such as seen in Drox, but this isn't what I am seeing. I LOVE that book. Am I misunderstanding?

I think the compass should have a background on it like the other windows. In some areas its very hard to read unless I move it up onto the info bar. I think it would be better having the standard BG the other windows have though.

I still think that the red text of the aggro mobs over the BG you have is very hard to read. I'm guessing though there is nothing that can be done about that?
