LFG Window (zoomed version below)

Description
Since SOE has decided that making the new nice LFG window useless by ambushing us with LFG every time we log on, filling the list with people who are not actually LFG, I thought a UI solution might be the way to go.

This mod puts a small indicator on your screen of whether you are LFG or LFM. In addition, a single left click will change your status (LFG/not). Right clicking in the LFG window will bring up the LFG search window.

To install:
If you've never installed a UI mod before:
Unzip this file in your Vanguard/VGUIAssets/Shells directory

Open with notepad Vanguard/bin/vgclient.ini

Find the line that reads:
ShellName=Default

change it to
ShellName=Mothers

Save and close

Load Vanguard

If you have another Mothers UI mod installed:
Open your Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/Mothers/textures folder

copy mothers_widgets_01.tga and mothers_widgets_01.xml to this folder overwriting the files that are already there

Open your Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/mothers/windows folder

copy VGUILFG.xml to this folder.

Open with notepad Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/mothers/index.xml

Find the line that reads:
<GameplayWindows directory="Windows">

Immediately after it, add:
<Window filename="VGUILFG.xml"/>

Save and close and load Vanguard

If you have another UI mod installed: (For example, Drox)
Open your Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/Drox/textures folder

copy mothers_widgets_01.tga and mothers_widgets_01.xml to this folder

Open your Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/Drox/windows folder

copy VGUILFG.xml to this folder.

Open with notepad Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/Drox/index.xml

Find the line that reads:
<GameplayWindows directory="Windows">

Immediately after it, add:
<Window filename="VGUILFG.xml"/>

Save and close

Open with notepad Vanguard/VGUIAssets/shells/Drox/skininfo.xml

Find the line that reads:
<AnimationDefinitions directory="Textures">

Immediately after it, add:
<AnimationDefinition filename="mothers_widgets_01.xml"/>

Save and close

Load Vanguard

Well, this is kinda hard to explain... the check box in the LFG window isn't an indicator, just a control.

SOE could have written it as an indicator, but I don't think they planned on anyone changing it except through their check box.

I suppose I could rewrite the social window so it would show what people expect, but since there's no other changes I have to the social window, it seems like a bad idea. (If someone else has rewritten the social window, I'm sure they've done a lot more than just those check boxes. And I am not ready to rewrite the whole social window the way I think it should be done.)

Anyhow, this is just an initial version. I'm sure I'll keep improving it until SOE does the right thing and either makes the game remember your LFG status of defaults it to off.
