What is CustomUI ?
CustomUI is not a new user interface.
It is a UI 'toolbox' that allows you to mix & match components from different user interfaces to create your own unique UI.
CustomUI is a database program (MS Access) that creates new Index.xml and SkinInfo.xml files based on the components you select. Since you select only what you plan to use, your CustomUI can be optimized for better performance.
This version of the program includes the latest versions of Drox, Core, Darker, myUI, ManicUI and InfoMap. All components from the Default UI are also available in the CustomUI 'toolbox'.
If you like your current UI, but wish it had additional features, or if you want an easy way to try out different UIs, then CustomUI is just what you are looking for !
Features:- All UI components from Core, Darker, Drox, Manic, and myUI interfaces, as well as the Vanguard Default UI.
- CorePlus (the UI I use) is an example of a UI created by CustomUI, which contains components from several UIs.
- A Save/Load utility that lets you save your favorite configurations
- 10 user-defined website links that open in the new in-game browser
- Smaller versions of several hotbars, including a new 3x12 hotbar which can be sized to show between 1-36 buttons
- 3 map selections - InfoMap Advanced, the default map, and the 'old style' maps used when Vanguard launched
- 20-button Shortcut Panel for fast execution of common commands
- Quick Emotes window, with dozens of buttons for character emotes
- A built-in filter to hide components from UIs you don't want to use (makes it easier to find what you want)
- Fully detailed User Guide & Installation Instructions
- and much more...
Installation
The initial installation requires a few more steps than the standard UI installation, but future updates should be very simple.
For full details and installation instructions, please read the online User Guide.
Since all of the files for the different UIs are included in CustomUI, the download size is now exceeding 30MB. So, I have decided to break up the download into several modules.
The big Download button on this site now only downloads the CustomUI database first-time installation program. All of the individual UI modules should be downloaded and installed separately.
In the future, when updates are made to a specific UI, you only need to download and install that module.
First, install the database program.
New Intallation: Click the big Download button on this site to download the database installation program.
OR
Upgrade: Download and replace the CustomUI Database (12/20/09) *NEW*
Next, install each of the UI modules. - Download and install the CustomUI Module. (2/4/09)
- Download and install the CoreUI Module. (2/6/09)
- Download and install the DarkerUI Module. (2/4/09)
- Download and install the DroxUI Module. (12/8/09) *NEW*
- Download and install the ManicUI Module. (10/23/08)
- Download and install the myUI Module. (2/7/09)
- Download and install CustomUI Updates. (12/12/09) *NEW*
The CustomUI Module (above) includes InfoMap 2.0
To upgrade CustomUI to newer versions of InfoMap when they become available:- Download the new version of InfoMap.
- Delete the contents of the CustomUI\InfoMap folder.
- Copy the contents of the InfoMapAdvanced\Map folder into the CustomUI\InfoMap folder.
- Start Vanguard

Dec 12,2009 Version 2.1
This version of the database program now gives users greater control over the database. (I actually uploaded it in October, but I wanted to test it awhile before making an announcement)
On the Utilities tab you will find two new buttons: - Add New File: When a new XML file is added to a UI (like when fishing was added to Vanguard) you can now add this file to the database yourself without having to download an update from CustomUI.
- Browse Database: This allows you to view and edit the raw data. BE CAREFUL !!! If you mess things up just download & re-install the database module.
I 2-box and harvest often, and all of my hotkey bars are full so I decided to create a Harvest button that I can easily click to begin harvesting. You can toggle this on/off from the CorePlus menu on the CustomUI Control Panel.
You will need to download the CustomUI Updates file for this feature.

New Version Coming
I am going to be uploading a new version sometime this week.
The new version will allow the user to add new default UI files (components) to the database without having to download a new version of the program.
For example, recently a new file was added to the default UI (VGUIAlternativeAdvancement.xml). This new file is not available with the current version of CustomUI, because it's not in the database.
Until the new version is available, users can manually add that file by editing the Index.xml file in the ~\Vanguard\VGUIAssets\Shells\CustomUI folder.

I believe the Attachments window is on the "System" tab. Make sure you have the latest version of the program. (2.03)

Yes, on the first page (tab) of the program select "Default" as the Base UI.
Then add/remove components as desired.

I'm using MyUI as the base; haven't tried another as the base with the Manic Healer Bar.
I'll try that tonight.

Re: Problem with ManicUI Components
I would really love to use the ManicUI healer hotbar but cannot get it to work 100%..
I can get it to load but the health/mana bars dont seem to work.
Anyone have any ideas?
I will try to take a look at it this weekend.
What is your Base UI ? If it's not Manic it may have a conflict with the Healer Bar.

Re: Modules update ? + a request
Will there be an update to the core module soon ?
And could the combo key mod be added, prehaps to the addon section....
Uploaded the new version of Core for CustomUI.
The link for that combo key mod doesn't work, so I can't check on that.

Re: Adding features from other UI's
Slyde is there a way to add stand alone features into the Custom UI data base, i.e. Maddy Craft, so that features like those found in M.C. can be used say in say a Drox base layout? I use M.C. as an example as there are other stand alone components I would like to add to my exsisting UI config utilizing CUstom UI but do not want to go into naming them all here.
Hi Khaelle, some of the included UIs (Core, for example) use the Maddy Craft crafting windows, so you just need to select those for your Custom UI.
As for other add-ons, I would have to test each one and add them individually to the database.
